"THE NICKIE INDICATOR"

By

I think it happened today.  There are subtle clues.  You really have to be watching close to even notice.  But it happened today...

The real estate season for the Chicago area began today!

Sure, the economists and "experts" will tell you that the real estate market kicks off after the Superbowl, but...

Does a hangover and indigestion from all of the Super Bowl parties really get you in "the mood" to by a house?  Even if it is raining, snowing, cold and dark outside.  I don't think so.

What really gets people buying homes is nice weather.  Nice weather a few days in a row and people begin Spring cleaning.  Throwing out all that extra "stuff" we have all collected.

This is the time for real estate.  This time is upon us.

My wife has a real estate indicator.  We call it "The Nickie Indicator".  She ranks days on their real estateability (pardon me if I make up a word from time to time).

The last few days have been dark and rainy.  Very poor "real estate" days, according to the Nickie indicator.  I think it is God's way of punishing us for the beautiful three seasons that are upon us.  The bad weather builds character.

But it doesn't help sell homes.

Nice weather does that.

Nickies Indicator has turned dramatically.

The sun is out.  Temperatures are rising.  The weather report looks beautiful!

Look outside...

Doesn't it GET YOU IN THE MOOD?

I really enjoyed writing this post.  I am excited about the turn in the weather.  It will mean a lot!
