Did anyone watch the Barbara Walters special last night?  They say that babies born today could live to be 150, and feel young!  They have found ways to stop aging!  WOW!  People in their 80's will feel like they are 40!  Do you really think this is possible?  They even think they can grow body parts, IS THIS SCIENCE FICTION OR WHAT?

And, there are some people who are having their bodies frozen at death anticipating that they can get new parts and come back alive.  Of course this costs $75,000 per person!  One family of five signed up for it!  I wonder if that comes with a written guarantee?

I think we had better start saving our money!  I don't think my money will last for me to live 90 more years, especially with the gas and food prices!!  Also, Social Security is only suppose to last until 2025, what will people do?  Who wants to work until they are 150?

I think I will just continue to trust God and live until my appointed time to die.  I'll save my $75,000 and spend my eternal life in heaven!

I wouldn't mind living that long if in fact I will still feel the way I feel at 42. What makes getting old so difficult is the wear and tear on the body and its accompanying aches and pains.

Hi Mary,  I saw that special and also thought it was amazing.  Some of the work with stem cells is so encouraging.  Terrific stuff !

Wow--no, I didn't see it.  Let's say that is true--then when would we get to retire; 140?  LOL  Would I want to?  Doubtful...

It's scary. I am hoping to make it to 70 and go. So, can someone have the rest of my 80 years? LOL. I can't imagine living that long.

Karen,

I cannot imagine living to 150!  Who could afford a nursing home for those "later years"?  Thanks for the response!

Bill,

It was amazing, but I really don't think you can die, be frozen, and come back to life!  Thanks for the response!

You're right living to 150 sounds good but it also has it's draw backs. I'm tired now I'm not sure I have another 90 years left in me.  I think I'll let some one else try that.

Mary - I didn't see the whole thing, I caught the tail end. But, I just couldn't believe it, 150?

Mary,

I only saw the last few minutes.  One lady really impressed me - at 100 she was caring for her cancer ailed daughter.  She did NOT look 100!! She looked younger than her 80 year old daughter.

I am in my forties - I cannot imagine 100, much less 150.  So many people that are older are in such pain all the time..... if we have a "wonder" drug - or find the right foods to make our bodies mend and feel younger - then I would want to live a long, long time.

I am with you, Heaven will be wonderful.  I don't want to be here - in pain - for 60 years! I'd rather be rejoicing and seeing my Lord and long lost friends that are waiting.

Darn, I wish I would have watched it now! I flipped past it a couple of times. Interesting stuff to say the least.

Mary, when do you have time to watch TV?  I'll bet you were stretched out in that upstairs TV room with Perrin beside you having a great time!

Jennifer,

It was interesting, I was surprised that people actually think they can be frozen and come back!

My sister called and told me to watch it, it was interesting!  I don't believe it, and I sure don't think you can be frozen and come back!

You bring up a good point. How do you make your money last for 30-40 years in retirement.

I put together a video of one way to do it. You can watch it here.

Having a 4 year old daughter - I've been daydreaming about how great it would be to see her as a mother and grandmother, to see how she changes and stays the same. I don't know if being 150 is the answer, but it's nice to daydream. You are right -Trusting God is where it's at!

It would be nice to see our children's grandchildren, but living to 150 would be too much.  Trusting God is the most important thing we can do for ourselves and our children.  They learn by example and I know you are a good example! Keep the faith!
