Dave Ramsey recently wrote a post about 7 Life Lessons we can learn from Truett Cathy: Chick-fil-A's founder who recently went back to his eternity home.

What caught my biggest attention is (4) Know why you exist.
Chick-fil-A's Purpose Statement reads, "To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us and to have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A". For Truett Cathy, chicken was simply a tool to accomplish his real purpose: honoring God and helping people.
For me, it's REAL ESTATE.
Back in October 2006, I heard God clearly as He spoke to me in a rural village in Kenya. He said, Frisco Texas is my mission field. With that, I came back, turned in my resignation to Corporate America and never looked back.
A career in Real Estate is real. And many people have various reasons to get into it.
For me, REAL ESTATE is just a platform I use to connect with people. Funny how God works sometimes.
When I first took on this career, I didn't know what God has in store for me. I didn't know I'd be jumping with joy with clients when they are getting married and plans to find their first home. I'd didn't know that I'd be one of the first to know they are pregnant, and that they need a bigger home. I didn't know I'd be sitting across a lady, getting ready to sign divorce papers and not knowing what to do with her real estate. I also didn't know I'd be crying with my client as I wrap up her home we just short saled, that when she turned the corner to leave the house forever, that her items in the moving truck would burn in flames! Real estate is emotional and I know now, why asked me to serve His people through REAL ESTATE.
So 12 years in the business? I no longer worry about where my business is coming from. I just get up everyday with the attitude to serve and everything will fall in its place!
