Less is More

When you decide to sell a home, there is a long process that comes along with it. Check out my other post, To Do List for Sellers, to help you through this process. One of the points that I make all the time: de-clutter.

De-cluttering is one of the most important things when it comes to selling your home. You have to make sure your home appears larger than it is, to attract the attention of potential buyers. That's the goal.

Attract the attention of potential buyers.

That's where less is more comes to place.

The less furniture in your home, the bigger it appears.

The less amount of pictures and personal belongings, the more chance of a potential buyer putting in an offer.

The less hassle that they have to repair, the more chance of a potential buyer choosing your home to purchase.

It's always a good idea to consult your realtor if you have any questions. Also, your real estate agent is really helpful during this time of de-cluttering, because they have done this many times. They know what works, and what doesn't work.

I always recommend my sellers use a staging company to evaluate their home. They can help the seller de-clutter, re-arrange furniture to better define a space for a potential buyer, and bring in wall decor or other decorations to change the whole mood of the home with different colors and themes.
