Hidden Home Buying Costs

Before buying, it is critical to know the various costs associated with purchasing a home so you can be prepared. Hopefully your agent has discussed with you any potential extra costs you may incur so you are not caught off guard at the closing table.

Knowing what fees you may be responsible for will make the home buying process much smoother and keep stress levels at reasonable levels. No one wants to be signing closing documents and find out that there are hidden home buying costs they are responsible for!

Anita Clark - thanks for sharing this infographic.  I always work with lenders who will provide a work sheet. I also, go over additional costs e.g. inspection, well tests, water, tests, septic etc.

Love the graphic.  I can't count the number of buyers that have neglected to account for the utility "start up" costs or have been taken off guard when they are asked to pay for the appraisal.

Beth: It was a surprise to make Pat's list this week. I am grateful she included me in her post. 

Praful: I stopped looking when I decided to pay for the premium option with piktochart which did everything I was looking for (I wasn't seeking the cheapest, but the one that fit my specific needs). I know that did not answer your question...only you can decide what you are comfortable with price and quality wise. Google "infographic template sites" and go from there. I have heard that themeforest.net is good (and a lot cheaper than piktochart) but I have not used them myself.
