You have probably heard the phrase "think global, shop local" at some time over the past few years. That means that we need to start purchasing goods and services from local vendors and farmers in our very own Reno community instead of the big box stores. This both helps our local Reno economy and lowers our carbon footprint. During Reno Bites Restaurant Week 2014, you can actually taste the goodness that patronizing local businesses provides.

Reno Bites Restaurant Week 2014 starts today and continues on through until Sunday, October 19th. Several local Reno restaurants will be participating by offering:
- a new Signature dish or discount on a dish they currently serve
- a three course prix-fix menu at a discount
- a Signature event that includes an out-of-the-box menu or a chef's special
There are several different events scheduled almost every day during Reno Bites Restaurant Week 2014. They include:
- Monday: Tequila Tasting & 4 Course Dinner at Uncork'd Eatery at Midtown
- Tuesday: Speakeasy Cocktails & Bites at Campo
- Wednesday: Bites & Brews Block Party 6pm at Wild River Grille
- Thursday: Dining in the Dark 5pm at Tournant Pop Up (130 W St)
- Friday: Bluegrass, Bubbles & Bites at Homage Bakery
- Saturday: Chef Showdown 2pm at Czyz's Appliance
- Sunday: Mozzarella Making & Build Your Own Pizza 5pm at SouthCreek Pizza
