I really admire those who are good spellers, because I am the worlds worst speller. Even with spell check I still manage to make spelling mistakes. Spelling is so important in very thing we do throughout our lives, so it is encouraging to see organizations like Achieve Hartford sponsoring the 2014 Hartford, CT Annual Community Spelling Bee.
The Achieve Hartford Community Spelling Bee has been an annual fundraising event since 2006, and has grown to more than 160 participants, and over 300 supports during that time.
The Achieve Hartford Community Spelling Bee is not your typical spelling bee. Instead of participants standing alone on stage, they form teams of three, and compete as a team against one another.
Teams are made up of Hartford Middle and High School Students, and area Non-Profits, Businesses, and area Community Groups are welcomed to form adult teams to compete as well. The top three Student Teams win some really great prizes, but no one walks away empty handed.
