Lebanon Ohio Hosts Inaugural Oktoberfest Saturday October 18 2014
Okay, Lebanon is never going to rival Cincinnati and Munich for large scale Oktoberfests, but that doesn't mean the festival capital of Warren County can't add one more party to its busy annual slate!
This Saturday starting at 11 a.m. Lebanon will host its first (of what we expect to be many more years of!) Oktoberfest. The event will be hosted on Mulberry Street and you'll have 12 hours of fun!
And despite this being a beer themed event, there are kid friendly events planned from 11 to 5, featuring Glen Helen Raptor Program, facepainting and a petting zoo!
From 2:30 to 10 there will be live music with four different bands (and we're not expecting any Oompahs to be heard)! Will there be a chicken dance? You'll have to show up to find out!
And of course, they'll have food and beer, with an emphasis on craft beers. And that food will come from some of your local festival favorites like BlackJack Grill (they had a LONG line at Country Applefest!).
The event is free, but of course they're not giving away the food and beer, and the win-win? Proceeds benefit Lebanon's Miller Ecological Park, a 97 acre eco park on Miller Road. Visit Miller Ecological Park's website for more details. And to help with the fundraising, various local businesses have donated gift baskets for a silent auction!
For more details about the event, either visit the Miller Park website above or check out the Lebanon Oktoberfest Facebook page!
And don't forget, drink responsibly and have a designated driver!
