Book Recommendation: Inherit the Dead

Inherit the Dead (2013) was edited by Johathan Santlofer, has an introduction by Lee Child and an afterward by Linda Fairstein. Each chapter was written by a different crime novelist. Santlofer is the director of the Crime Fiction Academy at the Center for Fiction. It is unusual to see a book with twenty authors but this effort was for a special cause. The royalties are being donated to Safe Horizon, the leading victim assistance agency in the country.

The location for this story is New York City and the Hamptons. The primary character is Perciles “Perry” Christo, a private investigator and a disgraced former police officer.  Perry’s assignment to find the missing daughter of wealthy clients provides the story for the novel.

I hope you will enjoy this easy reading book.  See the following link for A Book Review. The book was available at our local library.

Roy,  This sounds like an interesting book with each chapter written by a different crime novelist.  Pretty cool.

Roy, love the connection to a worthy cause that seems completely fitting with this genre of book!

P.S> Forgot to add that the leaf is beautiful in its simplicity.

Roy,

You are a voracious reader wow! I could never keep up with you. I was going to read last night but I had cleaned out the closet as Bob is doing a garage sale this weekend and I was just bone tired!

This was a brilliant idea! This one reminds me of the old 1983 book called, "Who Killed the Robins Family." Jim Adler was the author and whoever could solve the myster won a handsom amount of money. It sure got a lot of people to read the book!

Inherit the Dead is sure to be a winner! Now that would be fun to read because it's written by 20 creative authors and it's for an excellent cause! I will be sure to put this one in my book bag wish list!
