Footwear for Female Realtors
As the seasons change and weather becomes inclement, it's more difficult to show real estate listings in those fabulous pumps!
Add to that, the idea of not bringing in leaves, mud and other things that collect onto our footwear, and it certainly slims down the choices of how to look professional and still be functional. (Plus, I just don't want to ruin wonderful shoes that I can't replace).
Now, if you are living and working in Hawaii, for example, well, that's a different story! Bare feet are di rigueur!

But, how about Alaska? Galoshes, mukluks, (fur-lined boots),
even the occasional waders (to stay extra dry while taking clients on a fishing trip) are your best bet, as you may be hopping onto an ATV to show properties, deep in the woods.
For many of us who show a variety of properties during the four seasons, it is imperative that the right shoe be part of the professional ensemble and sometimes is the first decision in what to wear for the day for showing homes, lots, and country/lake/water/vacation/rural properties. Or New York in the snow!
Let me show you one of my discoveries for shoes that are functional, fun, EXTREMELY comfortable and easy to get on and off.
I discovered my first pair sitting prettily upon the feet of a realtor showing us coastal property before I was in real estate. Most of the medical profession is quite aware of these, as you can spend many hours on your feet in these and not feel pain or tiredness.
They are also very sturdily built and come in a variety of colors and styles, including boots. I have 3 pair myself, including a pair of sandals for the summers, when I'm tromping around vacant lots as well as going in and out of cabins, or upscale luxury lakefront homes on Fishhawk Lake. They are darling with jeans, casual pants and I've even worn them with long skirts.
You want to have shoes that you can easily take on or off, because some homes don't have those stupid little booties (which we all loathe), or if they do, they've often lost their elasticity and won't stay on.
We sometimes have to give up a bit of style for function and I get that, but you can still have fun with winter footwear and have your feet thank you at the end of a long day for taking care of them on the inside as well as the outside!
(Men, you can weigh in on this, too, but I am not an expert in your arena!)
Maybe Bob Crane can tell us what he wore on his recent trip to Alaska!
