Adrain Oregon is another small but full service town in Eastern Oregon. This one is the gateway to Owyhee Reservoir, our huge irrigation, power, fishing (German brown trout in the river below the dam as well as bass anc crappie in the reservour waters) and water skiing etc lake. There are homes in Adrian that serve as second homes to people that are here for the fishing and this time of year pheasant hunting.
It's right on the state line the Idaho and Oregon border and is about 45 minutes from Boise.Nampa.
Adrain has a grocery store (cool old building) , a hardware/lumberyard, a restaurant bar that is very well known, and a high tech metal fabrication business along with a rock shop and beauty shop. There is a complete school system.
We have a darling tudor style home on a large corner lot for sale, it's 3bed two bath and has as detached garage/shop. It's priced at $119900.
I have noticed an uptick in younger clients wanting the small town and small town rural areas for the safety and small town values. These are the kind of places where your kids can't get into much trouble without someone calling and letting you know what's going on. Everyone knows everyone and there's an element of security in that.
If you are looking in the Boise Nampa etc area don't count out Adrian.
Additionally we are anticipating that Oregon's marijuana laws will reflect Wasignton's and Colorados after the Nov 4 election. We already have an interesting growth in medical marijuana growing, this could really increase this crop. Years ago I wrote a tongue in cheek ad about the possibility of growng that"tobacco like cash crop" on a remote parcel that I owned. Now it could almost be real!
