Old Barns and People and My Friend Barry Mosher
Some time ago probably one of the best friends I've ever had sent me a video. His name was Barry Mosher. I watched Barry overcome many of life's struggles including two battles with cancer. He never gave up. He was disabled and couldn't work at a day job but every day he devoted his time and many abilities to helping someone else. Myself included. I had never met anyone like Barry. He would help me in anyway he could expecting nothing in return.Oh how I came to love that man. Not long ago Barry passed away and there has been a void in my heart ever since. I spoke at his funeral and humbly tried to express my opinion of and my feelings for Barry but nothing I said hardly felt adequate. That has bothered me and I have prayed for help to overcome my own dissappointment with my effort. Barry's three sons got together afterwards and decided I should have one of his prized posessions. His old jack knife. I carry it with me every day and every time I use it it reminds me of Barry.
Our Lord answers prayers in His own way and in His own time. I was going back through my facebook page and came across photos of Barry and I doing an appraisal of Devils Island off the coast of Nova Scotia. I had called Barry to help me with the assignment because he loved the ocean and could handle a boat better than anyone I knew. While going through the photos I came across a video Barry had sent me. I watched it and posted it on my facebook pages again. I don't know who created it but I know who inspired it. I felt compelled to write this article as a tribute to Barry (The Best Friend a Man Could Ever Have) and post the video's link here to show you how God answered my prayers and to provide a very simple answer to why we all have our struggles through this life.
