Seriously, I try to write down five different steriotypes about professions that intersect with mine on a regular basis. Then, I go direct to the source to disprove my beliefs. This gives me insight to those I work with and allows me to anticipate their needs.
Here are three helpful tools for working with Notary Signing Agents:
1. We love it when borrowers bring their VALID, unexpired ID's to the signing.
2. We are quite capable of scheduling our own appointments with borrowers and actually this procedure saves time, is more convenient for all and usually results in signings happening much faster.
3. We are not familiar with any particular borrower's specific information and so, we are not there to sell a client on his or her "deal". (The only thing we have to "sell" at the table is a 3-day right to cancel-if one exists) It is always best that the clients broker has reviewed the documents in advance and has put their borrower at ease. When a broker fails to do this, it's a crapshoot as to whether or not the deal will get sideways at the closing appointment.
I've enjoyed reading your blog-thought provoking!
