Warm Mineral Springs is also located in the City of North Port. Warm Mineral Springs is well known as a Healing 100 degree Artesian Springs, searched for originally by Spanish Explorer Ponce de Leon, but thwarted by Local Indians. In the 1950s, Col. Bill Royal dove beneath the surface discovering Animal and Human Artifacts of 10,000 years in age. It wasn't until the 1970s that the Colonel's theory of origin was proven and published.
