Initially I thought this network was about real estate. My active rain saga yesterday taught me that active rain is about people helping people. I was amazed at the response to my blog when I posted about my situation. I had the problem resolved in a matter of minutes with the assistance of this community.
I was actually contacted on the telephone by a member of the active rain staff within a mere three hours after I blogged "distress". I was flabbergasted. Not only did the representative assure me that my issue was resolved but he asked me if I had a little time and when I said yes, he walked me through a little blog tutorial.
It was only two weeks ago at a company brown bag meeting that we touched upon the subject of customer service. I voiced that it seems rare these days to get the common courtesies of "how are you today","Thank You", Oh and the big one, "Can I help you with anything".
Active Rain proved to me that there are companies and organizations that do care. It is as if someone has wiped the grime from my glasses. The experience has given me greater clarity and a clearer objective.
The Canadian geese are back in my area. Water is flowing where once it was a mass of snow. I think that now when I experience a lack of courtesy in any arena I will take the active rain approach. Wash away the conflict and activate the power to create positive experiences in the face of adversity.
