Friday Foto - Color Me Red
When visiting San Diego, One of the wonderful treasures here is the Scripp's Aquarium. In the Hall of Fishes is located Oscar, a delightful ( as long as he is behind the glass) octopus. Usually octopus are shy but Oscar is a fan favorite and loves all the attention.
A few things you might not know about the octopus:
Oscar has 8 arms and about 240 suckers on each arm. Go Ahead, count them.
Oscar has a beak like a parrot. He needs this to break open shells and tearing his food.
Oscar can change color at will. Except for turquoise, he hasn't seemed to master that color as yet. He does like red though.
He is a very good swimmer but unlike our Olympic stars, he swims backwards by jet propulsion. So he usually gets there first or last as the case may be.
I have never been especially fond of Octopus , that is until I met Oscar. He has a face only a mother could love, that is except for everyone else that meets him.
