Does a great catch phrase sell houses?

By
Real Estate Agent with Bucci Realty, Inc. BK3064647

Slogans, catch phrases, monikers or whatever you want to call them seem to be a necessary ingredient for most businesses.    But is the title question really important?   Of all the 800+ posts on Active Rain the top traffic generator (only 42,000+ views) is about slogans.

I wrote a post on one of my blogs, Florida Homes for Sale - Melbourne, Viera, Rockledge, Suntree, about year ago that discussed real estate agent branding slogans.  The post was titled Do great slogans sell houses?

As postings go it was not a really spectacular discourse but rather mundane.

It was actually a bit lighthearted which is my tendency when it comes to life.  (You know, loosen up...)

As I keep a check on activity I find this post always seems to generate attention.

Another great mystery I suppose.

Perhaps it is some of the slogans I used as examples in the post are really high in the search engines. which results in these real estate agents getting a lot more leads.

A Google search of some of these slogans will bring up some non-real estate related businesses as well.    Regardless, I will take the visits to my blog as a good thing!

I know you are anxious to click the above link and read my complete answer.

In the interim I will ponder that ageless question....  How can I capture the attention of every buyer who is considering Moving to Brevard County, Florida?

Maybe I need a catch phrase too...

The simple answer, it depends. It depends on the person that is reading the ad. Some folks respond differently to what they read, as you well know. Great question though.

Gary L. Waters, Broker Owner Waters Realty of Brevard, LLC - catch phrases are for that reason only! And as much as I am used to getting the real meaning behind it, the consumers still are attracted to it.

Foreclosure List ads still work to generate leads!

Absolutely!

Subject lines and phrases are without a doubt the magic to making an ad work or a message remembered.

Be aware, there are two audiences, one is those who follow GARY who has over 1 million RAINMAKER points. The other audience is the subject line target.

Using social media, especially places like Trulia and Zillow, one can conduct real time expereiments to test their material.

On a real estate website, my all time best click through was attached to a nonsensical title:

IRRELEPHANT:  Everything not related to elephants.

Even when you KNOW it's a trap...you have to click.

Best of success,

Annette Lawrence, Broker/Associate

If it raises a question in someones mind, they are more likely to inquire. Kinda like putting a sign above the red button saying "do not touch this button" people automatically want to touch the button. Catch phrases or slogans spark interest in someones mind

Gary

Key words that reflect the home . . . . can help to attract interest from the marketing.

Good luck and success.

Good morning Bruce,

I do feel catchy phrases can draw in the consumer but the slogan better meet the expectation of the house or they blow it off. "Move in Ready" and the carpet needs to be replaced is a real turn off!!

Hi Gary L. Waters, Broker Owner Waters Realty of Brevard, LLC, ultimately your lighthearted nature should be what produces actual contacts but as many have already stated the catchphrase will be the magnet that attracts the eyeballs.  "Not just a pretty face" is my fav although all of your titles are catchy - good for you!

Gary -- I can't say some of the phrases I see sell, but they might attract my attention or in some cases, make me turn away because they're just blatant hype. I see 'exceeding your expectations' more often than not lately.
