The Flashlight App Threat

The Flashlight App Threat

500 million people are affected...not them, but their smart phones.
We all have probably installed the flashlight app for our smart phones.  But, did you know that most of the apps are malware and are getting ALL your information.

Does your GPS and contact list automatically activates, do you know what apps your children are downloading..... You Need To Watch This Video if You Use a Smart Phone

Check out the SnoopWall Flashlight APPs Threat Assessment Report that provides a summarized Privacy and Risk Analysis of Top 10 Android Flashlight Apps by SnoopWall mobile security experts and the Privacy App scanner.  (They tested and installed the Top 10 Android Flashlight Apps on various smart phones and tablets. Windows and Apple iOS flashlights behave in a similar fashion, however, more restricted in their spying capabilities due to the hardened OS features of Windows 8.1RT and Apple iOS 7 & 8.)

I have a Samsung Galaxy and have had many problems lately with my contact list activating and the phone turning off and on a lot.  I've been wanting to get a new phone and yes, it will be an iPhone.

The flashlight app threatPerhaps we should just all go back to when we carried a regular flashlight!

It's ridiculous how many things on your phone take your info.  Your camera program does too.

Rebecca- and I am an apps hound!  I do have an iPhone and use the flashlight app that's installed on it.  And, yes, I too have heard that iPhone's more restrictive policy regarding apps helps to keep the malware and bugs at bay.

one more reason I'm glad I have an iPhone and it comes with a flashlight without the app.  And I do some pretty good research before I download an app on my phone.

I saw this on the news.  I'm glad our iPhones came with built in flashlights. I guess we need to be more cautious before we download apps.

Hi Rebecca. I never downloaded one on my new Samsung Note II, but I had them before. Very interesting topic, and we sure have to be aware of what those malware will do with our contacts information.
