Seven years a slave to Activerain.

They said it was a fad, they said it was a waste of time, they said no real customers would find you this way…they said this amounted to post and pray.

Well… I am still getting calls on blogs I posted in 2008.

Well… I still have customers and clients who found me due to my AR posts.

And yes…some blogs feel like a waste of time (so do many showings), but they only have to pay a dividend once in a while to be worth the effort.

In the early days I posted 30+ blogs a month, now I’ll lucky to put up 2 or 3. What those numbers don’t tell you is I have gotten busy, so busy in fact that blogging doesn’t get on my marketing radar screen as much as it used to…unless I have a new listing that I want to splash on-line – right now!

Seven years a slave to Activerain

Seven years of increased exposure, recognition, and greater sales volume…year after year.

I will remain a slave ... so long as this keeps working, I will keep blogging on Activerain.

How many of you do paper ads just because your seller’s insist? I like to write a blog and send them the link…this is a more effective marketing tool than the Sunday Classifieds. You could never afford to say so much and share so many photos in print…as you can in a blog.

One last thing I will freely admit - I don't encourage other Realtor in my Market to do this. I don't try to recruit - I don't rave to them about this platform... I'm selfish and like the results for me...so lets keep this our little secret...OK ??

Steve Loynd Oh I can not agree with you more ..beside my personal referrals almost all my other business comes from Active Rain .. Try to keep it a secret ? Never I tell every agent . They just do not believe me . It sounds to good to be true . We know differently

Bill. I do get some leads from Trulia and Zillow...but in truth most folks I deal with still want to be warm and fuzzy about who they work with and my blog has proven to be a good hand shake...connector. More of a feeling of friendship- offered rather than the sterile static on-line search for property...without a face to associate the relationship building of a real estate transaction that most people desire.

I think that is True Margaret...I also got a lot out of the Rain Camp I attended a few summer's ago. Social media, SEO, Back-links and the like are not things one learns on their own...a tech savvy group like AR offer an invaluable resource the places members ahead of the pack.
