Adapted Grants For Veterans In VA & Across the Country

The Virginia Housing and Development Authority (VHDA) was established in 1972. The VHDA is a non-profit organization which helps Virginian's purchase affordable housing.  VHDA offers a variety of home loan programs aimed towards first time home buyers and veterans.

In addition the offering VA Loans the VHDA also offers "Granting Freedom" to provide funds for US Disabled Veteran's to make modifications to their homes to accommodate their disabilities.  Partnering with the Department of Housing and Community Development and other community programs the grants provide funds up to $4,000 to add ramps, chairlifts, widen doors to accommodate wheelchairs and other modifications approved by the VA.

If you are a disabled Virginia Veteran you can read more about the program and apply by filling out the Granting Freedom Program forms.  If you qualify for a VA Loan the VHDA can assist you with securing a VA Loan and disabled vets may be eligible for a waiver of the VA Loan Funding Fee.
