One more cut.  Just one more cut.

The Grass In Lovettsville Virginia Needs One More Cut For The Year.

I really thought the last cut, 2 weeks ago, would be the last.  However, today I walked out into the yard to shoot a couple of rounds through my trap gun.
Just testing.  Just testing.  It's been a long time.  Gradually, I've been gaining strength and stamina.  Slowly.

However, when I got out there to put a few targets along the tree line, I discovered that the grass is anywhere from 6 to 9 inches high.

Through the year, I don't have the grass cut too short.  I want those roots deep where it's moist and cool.

I thought that when the days got shorter and the sun lower, it would have stopped growing about 2 weeks ago.  I was wrong.  Needless to say, this is one healthy stand of grass.

Kelly, my handyman will be here tomorrow, weather permitting, to give it a last cut.  I sure hope it's the last.

John Deere will get the job done.

Lenn, I'll keep cutting our grass here in Indiana till after Thanksgiving just to keep blowing our leaves into the woods line, or mulch up the leaves as our neighbors are loaded with oak trees that blow into our yard.

You have a great looking lawn!!!

Bruce.  I don't have a leaf problem.  Most of the trees here are pines.

The handful of leaves that drop here just don't matter.

Hi Lenn - I did my last cut 3 weeks ago, and even though it has been warm, it looks like the grass have decided to call it a season. Time to get out the snowblower.

Lol. Lenn. I thought that I had done by last cut two weeks ago, and now with all this recent rain, looks like I'll have to have my yard cut again too. Just glad we don't have to worry about snow in South Texas.

Lenn my grass got cut the beginning of this week, and I am hoping that is the last cut for this year.  The temperatures have drop, so the grass should stop growing.

Dick.  I imagine your growing season is shorter than ours.  I just misjudged.

Jerry.  Eeekkk.  The "S" word.

George.  I suspect you're right.

We cut until December usually and again as early as March most years.  Last year was a brutal winter and it was actually April before it needed it.

Lenn, I have five acres of grass to deal with and I think, like you, one more cut ought to do it! I sure hope so!

Hi Lenn-that sure is some pretty grass. Last week as I cut my lawn I was thinking maybe it can go to a10 day schedule as the summer rains have finally pulled back. We will see!

I always do a late cut just to get rid of the leaves.  I hate raking!  It's easier to mow...

Good morning Lenn. If we had more warmer weather, we'd have to do more cuts, but we stopped a couple of weeks ago. Your lawn looks great.

Make it a great weekend!

Lenn, getting to that time of year where the lawn man shows up every other week instead of once a week. Enjoy your day!

Tom.  5 acres, ouch.  My lot is only 1.62 acres but the back yard is huge.

Barbara-Jo.  Watch out for the scorpions.

Marco.  Ah, the perpetual summer of Miami.

Jay.  No leaf problem here.  Just grass, grass and more grass.

Joe.  Thank you.  I treat my yard with care.  Well fed and no critters.

Wayne.  Eeeek.  Once a week is a horrible thought.

I believe that we will have one more week here before they stop mowing. I have someone do it as John Deere and I are not friends. Hopefully this will be the last time for the season.

Janis.  My John Deere lives in my garage but moves only when my handyman is here to run it.
