It's Friday and it's Halloween to boot! I thought I'd end the work week blowing off just a little bit of steam so those that matter won't mind and those that mind don't matter.
I'm still relatively new to Active Rain and I've found so far that the overwhelming majority of folks here are friendly, inviting, accepting, and knowledgable. But there have been a handful of men (and women) who think it's acceptable to post sexist, rude, inappropriate, and insensitive remarks on my blogs because of how I look.
It's hard enough for a woman in the business world to start and run her own company. I have been a successful real estate agent and now broker for over 16 years and I will continue to be successful. I feel sorry for those people who find it necessary to try and tear another person down because they aren't comfortable with who they are. I'm sorry for those who feel they can post cat-calling comments on a strangers blog post as if they are a construction worker in the 1950's whistling at a female walking across the street. These types of comments and posts on peoples blogs show YOUR character, not mine.
I have always been, and always will be comfortable with who I am. The question for those who post inappropriate comments on other peoples blogs is "Why aren't you?"
