On a day, like today, thoughts turn to little ones holding households hostage for candy, and hauntings.

That's right, hauntings.

Every town, every area has those notorious homes, or buildings that everyone thinks are haunted.

Right here in Evanston, the Music Administration building on Northwestern University's campus is considered haunted.

The building was built in 1874, so it's certainly got that going for it... and it's kinda creepy looking with that black mansard roof.

Students in the building have reported sightings (and hearings?) of a former student who once attended school in that building, named Young Cliff.

Apparently there have been Young Cliff sightings for decades.

What haunted places do you have in your hometown?

Alan we've got several hotels downtown that are rumored to be haunted. People reserve those haunted rooms on purpose!

I have carmel onions to serve if you drop by my place. That should be spooky enough.

Oh yes every town has "those" homes. A co-worker of mine lived in a home which was constructed under the HANGING TREE in Alvin. The tree was used a very, very long time ago.

She told me she had stuff moving around the kitchen of her home and lots of strange things going on in the back yard.... right under the hanging tree.

Hi Alan, and Happy Halloween.  I'm not convinced that ghosts exist, but some clients won't live next to a cemetary.  I don't know why -- they are certainly quiet neighbors!

Home is where the hearth is.

Sussie - that doesn't sound appealing.

Dianne - the quietest. (except, of course, on Halloween!)

We have a few Civil War battlefields in our area and I am sure they are the most haunted areas when I live.

Chris Ann - actually Antitem, Maryland is considered one of the most haunted spots in the US... so it's not surprising that a battlefied or three in your area would be haunted.

Georgia ranks well for haunted places with Savannah leading the charge.  My family ghost spotter is my daughter in law, she's soooo creepy, but we still love her!
