Ohio is the heart of it all

"Ohio is the heart of it all" is an old slogan for Ohio tourism / commerc... we have moved on from that slogan and I really can't tell you what the current Ohio slogan is.Ohio

Michigan folk think their state is shaped like a mitten... we don't really think our state is heart shaped... well maybe a little...It's more about where Ohio is in the United States.

In 'SIX THINGS YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT: OHIO' by Frank Smith" on Black Table:

"If Ohio is the heart of it all where is the brain?"

"-- state that boasts itself as the Heart of It All. And this is a reasonable claim because, well, geographically, Ohio is positioned around about where America would have a heart, if landmasses had bodily organs. But then using that logic, America might not have much of a brain. Where would it be? New York? No, that's more like shoulder area. .........No, if the North American continent had a brain, it might be somewhere in Canada. Possibly Alaska. But Ohio, o-hi-o, is truly the heart of it all."

If Ohio is the heart where is the brain?  What does Black Table say about your state?  Black Table is missing lots of states if anyone out there wants to try their hand at California, Florida,  Illinois (there was an Illinois... it is gone?), New York, the majority of the New England states ....Washington and many more.  Black Table is a bit irreverent... as you can see by the url of their "legal info" ....I believe CT is available...and Linda Davis could probably write something good enough to be accepted by Black Table. She'd probably have to publish it as Carnac though.

Columbus is really the heart of the state of Ohio. We are almost smack dab in the middle of the state and being the capital it is the heart of the state.

Happy Valentines Day to Columbus. Happy Valentines Day from a very snowy Columbus.

Don't forget that we're within an 8 hr drive of 60-70% of the nation's population, which is important to our local economy and ease of commercial hauling via trucks, RR's and shipping.

It says "This post has been included in Ohio Information"  is at the bottom now... is that to do with Localism?  I had gone to see if this was included because of Elaines experience with her entry about water towers not showing up in Active Rain until I left a comment.

Is this now in Localism?  Was it because of Elaine's comment?  I went to look shortly after writing this and it was not in Localism.  I did not add it to the Ohio Group on purpose.

I suppose the trucking / transportation thing may have had some to do with being the heart of it all too.
