It’s the 28th Annual Delray Beach Turkey Trot!

For the many of us who are blessed, this is an important time of year to 28th annual delray beach turkey trotremember that there are those in our community who are in need.

The Annual Delray Beach Turkey Trot is one way to bring attention to that need, support the “Keith Straghn Feed the Hungry Thanksgiving Drive” and just get out and enjoy our weather.

What- The 28th Annual Delray Beach Turkey Trot

When- Saturday, November 22, 2014

Time- Registration begins at 6 AM; the run and walks begin at 7:30 AM

Where- Anchor Park

   340 S. Ocean Blvd

               Delray Beach

Contact- 561-243-7277

Entry Fees- vary based on age

                       8-10- 2 cans/boxes of non-perishable food

Keith Straghn was a longtime resident whose desire was to feed the hungry.  He founded the annual Feed the Hungry Dinner in Pompey Park.  The funds from this Annual Turkey Trot will go to his foundation.

Helpful tips:

*Register early

*Parking in Sandoway and Ingraham will be free until 9 am.

*It’s still hot here so be sure to drink lots of fluids before the event

*Sorry but no dogs, skateboards, rollerbladers or baby joggers/strollers

Bob- I'm with you.  The thought of anyone going hungry is unthinkable.

BARFF- it's a great fundraiser and I've been in the past and they have a pretty good turnout.

Gita- it's what this country is all about.

Donald- I would dare you to show up for the Trot in those, but you just might.

Joanna- thank YOU for your work with In God's Love We Deliver.

Kristin- I know that there are efforts throughout our country, especially this time of year, to help our food pantries.

Joan- Thank goodness you can walk in this one!!!

Scott- You always get so much back when you give, right!

Brian- I love that children under 10 can bring non-perishable goods as an entry fee.

Norm- I am lucky to live in this area, where the community is so involved.

Jeffrey- oh yes.... and I can't wait for the football games.
