Week 5, Day 1 of the Epic Remodel

By

Today was a quiet one where only the tile guy showed up. He did make progress on the Master shower. The new tile has started coming up. The missing tile in the center of the picture on the left is where there will be a cut in or small alcove for shower stuff.

Previously, the tile guy had set the shower floor in what looks like concrete over the top of a heavy neoprene liner.

The cement stuff had a peculiar smell to it, not altogether pleasant I might add.

The tiles sort of look like a granite and are slightly textured. I think they look pretty good, certainly better than the nasty white tiles that were there before!

The picture on the right shows a job I handled by myself this past weekend. I changed out many of the old gold door knobs with either a brushed nickel or antique gold ones. They go much better with the new decor!

And finally, on Wednesday we are hoping to see the 12 new Anderson windows come in. They will replace the three in the kitchen, 2 in the great room, 3 in the guest bedroom, 2 in my office downstairs, and 2 in the basement. Just in time for the cold weather we are having now. Fingers crossed that we see our kitchen guys sometime tomorrow.

Great to see that you got into the project first hand Peter, I think it is important on many levels to get involved in some way.
