PRE-HOLIDAY SALE MEANS BUY NOW

sale tagDon't look now, but the holidays are rapidly approaching.  Advertisers are already hitting the airwaves, newspaper ads have started to increase in the Sunday paper, and Internet ads are loading fast and furiously.  What doesn't seem to be included in all of those ads are home sales.  The reason for that seems to be to mistaken perception that houses don't sell during the holiday season.  You might want to think again!

REASONS FOR HOLIDAY HOME BUYING

Most people seem to think the only time people move is during the spring and summer.  No matter how hard we try, we just can't seem to convince the majority of buyers out there that home sales happen all year round.

Think about this:

1.  Job relocations happen year round.  The San Ramon Valley is a highly desirable relocation area.  It is the home of the Bishop Ranch Office Park (Bishop Ranch) that is the home to over 500 companies.  These companies are made up of high profile corporations including Chevron, Toyota, FedEx, GE, and Nestle, as well as several smaller businesses in the technology industry that are growing every day and always looking for highly qualified people.  Do you think they are going to wait for spring and summer to find qualified people if they have a need now?

2.  Fewer sellers can mean motivated sellers.  Since there tends to be fewer homes on the market during the pre-holiday weeks, buyers can often find a better deal on their dream home.  This past year saw homes in the San Ramon Valley selling in a matter of days with multiple offers over asking price.  Now that the holidays are quickly approaching, the number of homes for sale has decreased, as well as the number of buyers. Use this to your advantage by looking now, especially since interest rates remain very affordable. Less buyers means less chance of multiple offers.

3.  Toast in the new year in your new home.  Imagine you and your family being able to ring in the new year in your new home.  If you begin looking now, you can start out 2015 by being able to say you live in the San Ramon Valley, home to excellent schools, walking and hiking trails, close to shopping and only 35 miles east of one of the most beautiful cities in the world, San Francisco.  What a better holiday gift to give yourself and your family!

SALES ARE ON NOW

Now is the time to stop procrastinating and make your money work for you.  It's easy to get caught up in the holiday rush and excitement and break into the money you have tucked away for the home you talk about buying "some" day.  Don't put it off any longer.  Call me today and let's go shopping for that dream house now.  You never know, you just might find what you are looking for "on sale".

I would agree - great reminder!  I know the real serious buyers come out about now, then in March and April, we get those who are just starting to look.

Graziella Bruner  I agree that anyone looking now is serious. I've found a lot of people just look at open houses in the spring to get out of the house.

Kathi, you are so right. I have noticed that the seasonal buying and selling have started to blend together more in the last few years. You can get a good deal now and things are still pretty busy in most parts of the country.

People used to ask me when the Spring market started, I would say after the football season was over and this was really true as after the Super Bowl we would see a lot more showings and contracts. I think (and hope) this is a thing of the past.

Good post.

Thanks for the comment Noah Seidenberg .  I couldn't help but smile when I read your reference to the spring market starting after football season.  I'm originally from Detroit (you know, Chicago's neighbor) and I've never thought of spring starting until May - LOL!!!
