Change your batteries on your smoke alarms now!

I remembered that they tell us to change the batteries on our smoke alarms each year at the time change. I decided to wait until my sone comes to visit at Thanksgiving rather than get on a ladder. Guess waht- 2 days ago our batteries start chirping. My husband is disabled and I am 61 years old so we do our best to not get too far off the ground. I change them and we sit down to relax. About 5 minutes later, they start chirping again. We change them again. 15 minutes later the same thing happens and we had used a battery from our ceiling fan on the 2nd round of changes so we knew the battery worked. This time we decide they must need readjusting. That seemed to work and all is well so far.

For sure, when my son comes, we are getting the very best batteries we can and have him change them again to hopefully forego any beeping until he comes again from Hawaii to visit us and help us.

I remember that there use to be campaigns to change smoke batteries with the time change. Haven't heard about it for a while.

You have to change them with the best possible batteries if you don't want them to chirp all the time.
