The Little Ice Rink in Alameda is back for another on November 8 at Alameda’s South Shore Center adjacent to Petco on the southeast side of the South Shore Center off Park Street. The Little Ice Rink will be open from December 8, 2014 through January 19, 2015.
The Little Ice Rink is a gift to the community from Alameda’s Perforce Software Foundation and South Shore Center with the assistance of Ice-America. South Shore Center will be having “several fun activities” along with the ice in the future. And this year, Panera Bread will be serving coffee, hot chocolate and cookies on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Nothing is better than hot chocolate and ice skating.
The Little Ice Rink, with 4100 square feet of ice skating area, will not only accommodate ice skates but if you need help with balance, you can also rent a “Bobby” the seal. Tickets for adults, 9 years to 109 years are $15 with skate rental or $10 if you bring your own skates. Tickets for children up to 8 years are $10 with skate rental or $6 if you bring your own skates. Bobby the seal is $6. If you have a group of 10 persons or more you will receive a 10% discount. You may download consent forms here.
The Little Ice Rink will be open seven days a week, Monday through Thursday, from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from Noon. to 10:00 p.m. Please call 510-629-1423 for more information.
Alameda is a lovely community with good schools, pristine sand beaches, an historic movie theater, great stores, coffee shops and restaurants. I write about events, businesses, restaurants and items of interest to Alamedans.
