Some Thoughts to Remember about Veteran's Day

November 11, 2014 is Veteran’s Day…..

I am sure you noticed that every establishment that can, will capitalize on this important holiday for our nation.

But, please keep in mind that there are thousands of homeless veterans who served our country well, and possibly came back from war with a lot of bad memories, bad finances, and ruined relationships that might have cost them dearly.

Please remember to salute anyone in uniform any day of the year. And, please be kind to those who you know who have served our country not only by putting on a uniform, but giving years of their lives to the service for you and me to live free and prosper in this, one of the ultimate lands of opportunity.

Be thankful for those who stand and serve for you each and every day!

Ron, this is a well stated post and we should look after our men and women who served our country EVERY day of the year.

I hope with the new composition in Congress that they will get to the bottom of the shameful care US Veterans have endured while trying to get medical care through the VA.

I have noticed lately several Vietnam Vets on the side of the road panhandling. That makes me sad and wonder if the kids today even know what that was all about. They didn't get the respect they deserved.

As the wife and daughter of Veteran they are near and dear to me. I help when and how I can. Wonder War Project is one of the places I make donations. A local group called Americans helping Veterans is another.

Of course November 11th is also a special anniversary for my daddy. This year will be 15 years since he had cancer surgery on Veterans day back in 1999. Every day is gift.
