Real Estate is full of EXCITEMENT so when I saw the November ActiveRain Contest - I Cannot Believe I Just Did THAT! by Kathleen Daniels, I knew exactly the story to share. When it comes down to it, I do what needs to be done to make my client happy and get homes Sold. On a Walk Through of a home closing that day. The buyer noticed a large branch had fallen in the nights storm, it ripped a shutter off and peeled off a piece of siding. They wer enot closing unless it was fixed. The seller was older, they could not fix it themselvesand their belongings were all in a moving truck ready to close on their new home immediately after the sale of their home closed. The buyer complained, the seller cried and i grabbed the phone...
We called handy men, siders, builders and no one could come right now. The area was just above a flat roof. It is a rather easy fix. I had my drillm a hammer and a screwdriver. There was no ladder but a window that lead to the flat roof. Sure i could fit.... So out the window i went. The siding went back into place easily. I hung up the shutter and began to screw it in when out came bees, they could have been hornets but either way i am allergic. THE BEST PLAN is to run away, full speed. So off i ran... right off the roof.... the buyer said It looked like my legs were moving in mid air just like the movies. Down i went right into a big bush. I think I just layed there and made sure everything was still where it was suppose to be.
People laughed, people cried and people poked me. Either way I was fine. The siding and shutter was fixed, and we went to close both sales. Just doing what I do best, selling homes, showing off and entertaining people....
I leave you with my now "infamous" fact, There is a RIGHT WAY in order to Buy or Sell one's home. Many Home Owners may not know there is a difference between Agents.
