I will let you in on a secret. I may be a real estate agent but I am just a person and I hate salesman types. To me there is nothing worse then walking into a store and being accousted by a salesman. Then after the polite refusals for help I realize that if I step backwards I will trip on them. I have stores I won't even shop at because it makes me feel uncomfortable. I hate to feel tricked or manipulated into buying something, so you won't find any high pressure sales tactics with me.
With the age of the internet most times by the time I walk into a store I know what kind, model, type, color etc that I want. I searched the internet, read reviews, poured over owners manuels, checked the cost of replacement parts and consumables and that is just to buy a microwave. Can you imagine how intense this is for a big purchase like a house. I figure about 95% of the clients I talk to are the same way.
When someone shows up on my website or calls on an ad, they will look through hundreds of listings. I have had some linger looking through listings for years before it is time to buy. Dreaming doesn't cost a thing and the knowledge you gain is priceless. Usually about a month before they are ready they send me a list and start asking for maps, drawbacks, well logs etc. I am more than willing to listen, and answer a hundred questions and dig up information on anything that interests you. Every little bit that I do now will save us time. You can eliminate the ones that just aren't going to work for you. I can get a feel for what you are looking for and may even be able to offer you a few properties that aren't on the market yet.
