A Great BIG Thank you to all Veterans today - Especially this one! - Today is a great day to sit back and think of all those that you know that have served the rest of us to preserve our Freedom! I am sure each and every one of us knows someone personally who has served. I know I have at least a dozen family members, mostly aunts and uncles that have served in some way shape or form and I just wanted to say THANK YOU!
The one closest to me that served our country was/is my father, he recently turned 81 years old and is as sharp today as he was 50 years ago. He served four years in the Navy during the Korean War, fortunately he never saw any close up warfare as he was stationed on an air craft carrier and spent about half his time in Hawaii. But I do know there were a few tense moments during his time, and he saw his share of military coming back in a different state than they left.
He never has really told us much about his time, but I know that the bond created between those that served, shoulder to shoulder to die for one another and for those they have never met, is a bond that I will never be able to comprehend, and for them I am eternally grateful.
