The Hartford Village Neighborhood in Chandler Arizona, established in 1982, is located at the northeast corner of Hartford Street and Knox Road. Most of the homes in the Hartford Village Neighborhood were built between 1982 and 1985 by builder Dave Brown. Newer homes in the smaller HOA section of the neighborhood were built by DR Horton in 1995 and 1996. Several of the lots in this neighborhood are larger fanned lots in cul-de-sacs and curved streets, and can range in size from over 12,000 sq. ft. to 20,000 sq. ft. The majority of the homes have lots between 7,501 and 10,000 sq. ft. Homes in this neighborhood are generally single-story, 3 or 4 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, a 2-car garage, and range from 1200 to 1800 sq. ft. on average. Residents enjoy mature trees and landscaping with neighbors who have a pride in ownership and care for their front-yards.
Earlier in 2014, residents voted on the distinct street sign that would be placed on all entry intersections. The winning sign was the blue bird with the sun. The neighborhood is part of the Neighborhoods In Action Program and held its first meeting on October 17, 2013 when it created the neighborhood action plan.
Within walking distance, or a very short drive, are a few wonderful restaurants. To the north at the corner of Hartford Street and Warner Road is a great and very popular breakfast and lunch spot known as the Hoosier Cafe. To the west at the corner of Knox Road and Alma School Road is the new Social Box Restaurant (formerly Iguana Macks) which is a pleasant and inviting restaurant, with a great menu and service as well as full bar and wine celler.
Two miles southeast sits the historic Chandler High School, Chandler Center For the Arts, and Historic Downtown Chandler Square loaded with great events, restaurants and shops. Knox Elementary is a 10 minute walk down Hartford Street just south of Knox Road. John M Anderson Junior High School is located on Dobson Road between Warner Road and Ray Road.
Hartford Village Neighborhood is generally a quiet family neighborhood. Residents enjoy interaction with neighbors and walking and biking throughout the neighborhood. The many cul-de-sacs in the neighborhood lend to the neighbor interaction and a comfortable location to live.
