When I first started in Real Estate more than 7 years ago there was a little coffee shop/diner just down the road from the office. The name of the place was Just Plain Dave's. I'd gone there a few times over the years for breakfast or lunch. The food was always good, but the place was small and cramped. The site where the Just Plain Dave's used to be is going to be utilized for a CVS or some other chain store. So Dave's needed a new home. They found it at 956 Saint Georges Avenue in Rahway about 2 miles from their old location.
The other night Jean and I decideed to have dinner there before our weekly Sales Meeting. Truth be told, I was looking forward to it. I hadn't been to Dave's in a couple of years. When we walked in I was blown away! The place is beautifully decorated with a sense of humor. We were seated and our waitress gave us the menus. I ended up ordering the Meatlof Special. Jean opted for the 6 ounce burger. You can order a 3 ounce, 6 ounce, 10 ounce or 20 ounce burger!

r food arrived and simply put it was amazing. I'm a bit of a meatloaf connoisseur, but that's another blog post. Dave's meatloaf was tender, surrounded by crispy bacon and deep, flavorful gravy. The mashed potatoes had great texture, not overly mashed and the grilled green beans were full of flavor.
Jean's burger was cooked to perfection and at one point she said it was "th
e best burger" she's ever had. It came with a toasted sesame bun, hand cut fries and a pickle.
So will we go back? Definitely. We highly reccomend Just Plain Dave's for breakfast, lunch or dinner!
