This is my 400th post and I wanted to make something special out of it. The first thing is, you can play this song as we go along. I truly think that it is quite fitting for this post.
When I started out on this road 7+ months ago, I knew nothing about ActiveRain, social networks, blogging, or much less how to right code like I do now. I owe all of those things to ActiveRain and the community and support staff here.
When I started, I would have laughed at you if you told me that in 7 months I would have 105 people that subscribe to my blog. I would have laughed even more at you if you had of told me that I would have gotten over 7,000+ comments or left well over 5500 comments myself. Not to mention I would ask you for a sip of what you are drinking, maybe it is a mojito or a mint julet,
I would have told you that you were totally whacked if you had told me that I would be writing loans as referrals from people in the Rain. And as for making lasting relationships in a social network such as this just would not be something possible. At least the lasting part.
With all that said, after 7 months of being here, all that did happen and then some more. I have far exceeded what I originally sat out to do or even expected could do. And I did it all because I was never alone, just as the song "Never Alone" by Jim Brickman states.
Today brings me to think of a song by Natalie Merchant called "Kind and Generous" and I have to tell you I think that it is quite fitting for this community. Most everyone that I have met in this network fits that to a "T" and I have to say that it is people like that that keeps me around here.
I know when I have been down and wrote about some issues in the past, people have stepped up to give that "shoulder" to lean on. It is things like that that build lasting friendships.
I wrote a post a long time ago standing up for something that I believed was an injustice going on right here in our community against someone that I did not even know. It was a relief when I saw the masses gathering around to stand against that injustice and it made me proud to say that I belong to the ActiveRain Real Estate Network.
And it does not end with the members. If you have had the pleasure of dealing with any of the ActiveRain Staff members here, you know what I am talking about. Jonathan Washburn has got to have assembled a crack pot staff here. And these guys and gals take it serious. But they also know how to have fun and everyone of them have a "giving heart".
I thought that I would lay out some accolades to some wonderful people that I met here, but I have to tell you that I do not have the room in this blog to do that because I would have to list 99% of the members. For the other 1%, I will leave it there.
With that said. I want to share this song with you all and thank you all for everything that you do daily. It truly means the world to me.

Nice videos! You seem to have hit a good spot with AR. Good for you!
Danny - GOOD for you for doing 400 posts! I'm creeping up on 150K (about 2K more points needed) but have no clue as to how many posts I've posted...in the mid 300's maybe?
Danny....Congratulations! What a milestone....Very touching tribute to the A/R community.....and how its made a difference to your life....and obviously its a two way deal..........since its apparent that you've made quite a 'contribution' to the community as well.......Thank you for being here!
It's funny how fast the numbers add up. And I think we all start really getting into AR because we are competitive and want to move up. Then we start making real, live friends and we learn how they think and what's going on in their lives and suddenly ... the points don't matter anymore.
I can't think of anything in which I have gained so much for the price!!! So man, I know what you are talking about, because I feel it too! Thanks.
Danny ~ Congratulations! You get what you give, and you have given quite a bit here on the Rain - from inspirational quotes to highlighting another member. I'm so glad I "met" you! : )
Danny, Congratulations on your 400th post my friend. I remember one post in particular from a newbie that caught my attention and made me say, I have to know this person!
I appreciate your phone calls, emails and comments. You have been a true friend and a source of inspiration to so many. Elaine said it right; You are a gift.
400 posts!!! That is just, uh wow! It has already been said, but I will say it again, your a real gift to AR. Those of us that have gotten to know you..well you have touched us all in a very special way. We meet a lot of people in the Rain, but some people just form everlasting friendships. For me, your one of those friends. Congrats on a great milestone.
Debbie, that is soo sweet. And yeah, I loved that documentary.
Brande, as our friendships continue to grow here in the rain, so do they in the world. As much as you guys say I mean to the Rain, you guys mean just as much to me. When I am down, you bring me up. You are the wind, the rain, and the sunshine that flowers my soul.
Wow danny 400 Posts!! Since coming to AR I have found your posts to be just what is needed. If I am having one of those days, I will read your post and find something hilarious like the baseball steroids video. And my day suddenly gets lighter!
You are a caring man Danny and I still remember that post....it's the one that pretty much introduced me to you. I'm glad you wrote it and I look forward to seeing you hit 1000 posts sooner rather than later.
Obviously as a member of the Thornton Team I have gained a great amount of knowledge and understanding of how all this blogging stuff works! When I came here last November, I had only a vague notion of what a blog was. Now, especially this week, I have stepped up my blogging and thanks to you urging am trying to create more of a presence on the internet as a whole. I can always look to your blogs for inspiration, instruction, and a good laugh! I appreciate your contributions to the Rain and your helping me find my own voice in the Rain. BTW, good song choices!
Nice videos! You seem to have hit a good spot with AR. Good for you!
