Week 6, Day 4 was great!

Yesterday was a good day for the renovation work. The kitchen guys showed up early and worked till about 6:30 last night. They completed about 95% of everything that was left to do including installing the appliances, Trim work, lighting fixtures, painting, and vent hood stuff.

Wow, was it great to see when I walked in last night! The plumber also completed most repairs in the master bath yesterday as well. All that is left is for him to finish the shower fixtures and for the dry wall guy to finish up.

As you can see from the picture at left, the granite has still not been cut for the cook top. Hopefully that will be done today and the gas cook top installed.

There are a few last things for the kitchen guys to do. There is a mysterious wire hanging from the basement ceiling the electrician needs to do something with. But we are almost there. Then we move on to refinishing the dining room and foyer hardwood floors and the steps on the staircase. Then replacing the balusters with wrought iron and cleaning the rails, and almost finally re-carpeting the rest of the floors downstairs. The carpet has been picked. So, it looks like this series of blogs will be done shortly. Thanks to all who have commented on our progress.

Good morning Peter. Wow, it looks wonderful my friend. Six weeks isn't long for the scope of your job. I'm still in it and new ideas everyday for how to spend more money. Good luck on your completion.
