Hickory Public Library has partnered with Hickory Community Theatre to provide a Fairy Tale Tea Time with Shrek Characters. The program will be held at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.
Families, teens, and adults are invited to this free program. Please bring your own tea cup. Dressing up as your favorite Fairy Tale character is optional (but encouraged).
Along with the tea and snacks, there will be a special appearance by Fiona, Donkey, and some of their friends. There will be a viewing of a holiday Shrek film and then the program will end with a drawing for tickets to the musical “Shrek” opening November 28, 2014 in the Jeffers Theatre.
The stage musical of Shrek has made Broadway appearances since 2008 and it is based on the picture book “Shrek!” written and illustrated in 1990 by William Steig. Another adaptation of Steig’s story was the movie Shrek in 2001 by DreamWorks.
“Shrek” is presented in the Jeffers Theatre November 28th to December 14th. Tickets are $18 for adults ($2 off for seniors) and $10 for students and youth 18 and under. On Thursday nights all adults and seniors are just $14. Purchase tickets online at www.hickorytheatre.org or call (828) 328-2283.
