Where you live is special.  You may take for granted the many local events, special people that you live with and the incredible outdoor beauty and recreation opportunities though.

  When you capture the local flavor of your area, and post it on Flickr or a slew of other available platforms or outlets, you become a "mirror" that reflects and spotlights your special area.  Only you can know what day in and day out "looks like".  The feed for our Flickr photo collection is here.  Every reader or view knows what it is like where they live so your images help give them a sense of what is similiar and what is not typical for where they live, work and play.  As a real estate broker, your job is to be tour guide and help put the bright light on the many area facets of what makes your area shine.  Your local pride and involvement in your community is the sizzle, the essence of what your town or city is all about.  In Maine, the state is big, the people diverse.  In Houlton Maine, a third of the people are from somewhere else, relocating here to enjoy what they did not have on their last life stop.  The many custom, immingration, border patrol folks that landed here due to 911 Border Beef Up intiative bring lots of new ideas, add to the local talent many skills and talents.  The retire folks that relocate here may have been from Houlton Maine or Aroostook County originally but went to factory jobs in Connecticut's Pratt and Whitney, etc when local farm jobs were not plentiful after service in the military, etc.  With high speed internet, many others locate to Houlton and other rural Maine communities to telecommute to the same job they were at before arrival.  Enjoy the images of Maine!
