By
Managing Real Estate Broker with DCRE Residential

The SW area of Washington DC has undergone and continues to undergo many changes. The area around the Waterfront Metro station has first seen changes with the Washington DC Wharf finished redevelopment renderinggovernment offices relocating to the area, the redevelopment of the Safeway grocery store, Arena Stage undergoing a renovation and now the planned Wharf development.

It will be interesting to continue to watch the new construction and development in SW DC and SE DC near the Nationals Park and Navy Yard. Existing condo prices have risen the in SW DC neighborhood in anticipation of the new development going in along the SW Waterfront called the Wharf.  The Wharf development does have plans for condos, the first ones being developed by PN Hoffman, prices starting around $600,000.  The Wharf development also has new offices, a hotel, restaurants and green spaces to make the area more walking friendly.
