Bridgewater is a township in Somerset County, NJ. It was formally incorporated in 1798 as one of New Jersey's 104 original townships. Bridgewater includes the the following sections Martinsville, Finderne, Bradley Gardens, Green Knoll, Thomae Park, Sunset Lake, Country Club/Meadow Road Area, Milltown -Vanderveer and a portion of North Branch (the other section is in Branchburg).
Bridgewater was known as a farming town, but the township is now a fairly developed suburban community, with few traces of its rural past still evident. It is the 2nd most populated township in Somerset County. Bridgewater Real Estate offers offer a wide variety of sizes, price ranges and architectural styles (older homes, newer developments, multifamily housing, luxury new construction on large parcels of land and historic properties, too).
Resident students (Grades K through 12) attend the schools of the Bridgewater Raritan Regional School District, which serves Bridgewater and Raritan Borough.
Bridgewater is known for housing a variety of top corporations including MetLife, Sanofi-Adventis, Philips-Van Heusen and Johnson & Johnson. It also features the Somerset Patriots' the TD Bank Ballpark and the Bridgewater Commons Mall.
A network of local highways includes Interstate 287, Route 22, 28, 202 and 206, linking the area to other major routes. New York City commuters who use the Bridgewater Station on New Jersey Transit’s Raritan Valley Line.
