South Bound Brook is a borough in Somerset County, NJ. South Bound Brook was originally a section within Franklin Township, but it was incorporated as an independent community in 1907. Like most of Somerset County, the area was originally a farming community (mainly Dutch), that featured apple and peach orchards.
Resident students attend the schools of the South Bound Brook School District in Pre-K through 8th grade. High school students attend Bound Brook High in neighboring Bound Brook.
According to Wikipedia the main attraction in South Bound Brook is the Delaware and Raritan Canal, which forms the northern and eastern boundaries of the town. The canal and its D&R Canal Trail are used for numerous recreational purposes.
The area has seen tremendous redevelopment and it offers vast commercial Real Estate opportunities with the creation of the downtown area, known as Main Street. South Bound Brook is mainly an urban area, offering a variety of housing opportunities.
