In January 2014 this beautiful and very sweet dog was found wandering all over our neighborhood. He had no collar and was oh so thin. He was also very shy and would only allow you to get so close and then he would walk away.
A snow storm was to hit our area that evening and I knew that we had to help this dog.
I saw many neighbors look out, but they all returned to their homes and closed their doors. Not their problem or concern. One even suggested that we call the pound. That made me more determined to help. After hours of working to gain his trust I got him into our garage.
I took him to our vet to see if he had a microchip and he did not. I contacted Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue and they agreed to help find him a loving home if we would foster him.
As you can see he found his forever home .. we adopted him and he is our treasure. This is Archiebald and we call him Archie. This is a picture I took this morning ... he loves to wear his torn toy like a scarf.
With the holidays approaching so many families will buy a cat or dog. I encourage you to rescue instead and offer the gift of life.
