Annie and Bob Pacieznik

Annie and Bob Pacieznik: a name in real estate you might not be able to pronounce but can certainly trust.

That's our tag-line. What else are you supposed to do with a name like Pacieznik, you've got to have some fun. And speaking of fun...the activerain video contest 2008 has been a blast. More importantly, it's been the push we needed to get into the real estate video game.

Annie and I are both Realtors who work and live in Edina, MN. We wanted to make an entertaining video that included local residents messing up our last name. What message were we trying to convey in our video? Christian Sterner, the co-founder of Wellcomemat said it most eloquently in his blog "We Hire Those We Like/Trust".

So thanks Bob Stewart of activerain for the kick in the pants. Thanks Wellcomemat for your awesome video hosting and video player. Special thanks to everyone who tried to pronounce PACIEZNIK...a name they obviously couldn't pronounce but could certainly trust.

What a fun idea! Great way to poke a little fun at yourself, AND teach prospective clients your name. So far we have only used video to promote listings, but you have thrown down the gauntlet...that was fantastic.

Great way to get them to remember you, and interact with the community.

Absolutely loved the video. Your personality comes across loud and clear, making you look like people with whom you want to do business. I can see you getting business from this video.

How funny that I just met Bob through a comment and I asked via email how to pronounce their last name. Congrats Annie and Bob... did you do this for the contest or previously ??? ( I did not pay attention to the contest rules so I don't know whether you could use material previously produced... or if it had to be for the contest.

The pronunciation explaination makes more sense in video than it did in wrighting via email. I had a loooong Polish last name in a former life... so I know how pronunciation can scare people.

Love the accents of the ladies at the end. I have a Ukranian neighbor... it is Ukranian?

I have a video aversion but I had seen one of the winners! I am glad I now got to see this one...

Great job! It proves that we are real people with real personalities, not just pictures on a business card! Real Estate marketing is changing and the ones who embrace video will eventually leap frog the ones who do not.

So Bob - is that you playing guitar in the background? I saw you guys were in the music store, and thought just maybe you're a musician too? :-) Loved the video, fun, transparent, and memorable. Funny how a video can make one feel like they've known you for years!! AWESOME Job! :-)
