I was a member for 2 years, and it did not bring me much business.  It was a lot of effort for very low return.  There are just so many better ways I can be spending my time.

I could, however, see it working for you since you are already established there. 

You will have a much better sense after doing this full time for a full year or two, and then you can analyze your return. It's important to both look at ROI and return on time. At beginning, you may spend more time (since you have more of it and less money), but over time, you'll have less time and more money, so then you may shift.

Hi Sussie, that is great you attend twice monthly and I've never heard that about a whole brokerage must join before an individual can join in some cities....crazy.

Congratulations on your support of the local chamber it will pay off one day.

Sussie- I belonged to the CofC several years ago and loved it.  In fact I still work with my favorite agent whom I met there.

 I did attend but, I agree with Debbie too much effort for very little business they wanted something in return.

 PS I am not sure we can make a meet up we are both pretty booked on the calendar and we are remodeling which means de-cluttering plus the holidays let us know we will try!

Our brokers are members of the Chamber here and the Chamber does monthly meetings at individual business and I try to attend them...they are fun and always good food and most of the agents attend.

I have been a member for the past 4 years but have hardly attend anything.  That, I believe is why I have not benefited.  I want to get more involved in committees but have not worked it into my schedule yet.  I don't know how it can not benefit you unless you go to meetings and don't talk to people.

Networking works and continues to work. Don't give it up as you already have your foot in the door and need to continue to nurture those relationships.
