We've hung tough long enough and the time has finally come. Pull out your big buttons, your blue-jean jackets and all your New Kids On The Block paraphernalia because they are back. This was something I never thought would happen. No, it's not the Beatles getting back together but it's close enough. These were my Beatles. New Kids On The Block said goodbye in 1994, they are now reuniting to give it another try.
At the Today Show this morning, mothers and women who were once N.K.O.T.B flockers, flocked again. Holding up old posters, old buttons and screaming their lungs out, the crowd went wild for the reunited group. N.K.O.T.B finally sat down together for the first time in years. Guess what? They are about to go on tour and yes, I will be there will bells on or should I say "with tight rolled pants and poofy hair"?
All my girlfriends are talking. We are all feeling the nostalgia of our childhood. N.K.O.T.B's not only bringing back the "Right Stuff" but adding new pieces to their album. But, is it the new stuff we want to hear? Don't we all want to cry again to the ballad "Please Don't Go Girl"? Being extremely excited about the reunion, I am more excited about revisiting my youth and cherish memories I have over "My First Concert" and my giddiness for this group.
Will they last? I don't know. Will they make it? Who cares. As long as I can enjoy a short period of nostalgia and entertain a concert, I'll be just fine. But, my have the boys grown up. Leaving young boys and coming back men is a change for all of us. They have grown up and so have their followers. Being used to screaming teenagers, they will now have to adapt to screaming mothers in the early 30's (yes, that would be me). Die hard fans will be following them through out their journey. I am excited to see which states they are hitting for the tour.
So, putting the "giddy" aside, I am extremely excited. It might seem a little corny for those of you who didn't grow with them. Imagine your favorite group as a child and then imagine them returning to pick of the pieces and reunite again. N.K.O.T.B individually said years ago that they would never get back together. This is a total shock and it's only just begun.

This one brought back memories. I knew Donny when we were growing up. I'm from Boston. He was born Dorchester, a tough part of the city. He now lives in Braintree which is an upper end bedroom community about 20 minutes south of the city. He grew up poor and tough and overcame the projects.
PS: Where's the single's site? lol I was thiking about that as the dogs and I were going to bed at 10:00 on a Saturday night.
