Here is the latest and greatest on the storm coming to the northeast and affecting many of us, this Turkey Day.  For anyone traveling, be aware of delays or use the tips below to prep your car, in case of delays...water, blankets, snacks and a flashlight or two top the list.

 

After work today, I have to go pick up turkey dinner for a friend, who's family is having a tough year/decade, from her church and then get to our horse.  Krystol needs a coat on tonight and will be put in her barn with friends, out of the rain to snow mess for the next 24 hours.

Heavy wet snowfall to impact Holiday Travel Wednesday and Wednesday night.

 

Winter Storm Warning in effect from 7 am Wednesday to 7 am EST Thursday.

The National Weather Service in New York has issued a Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow, which is in effect from 7 am Wednesday to 7 am EST Thursday.

 

  • Locations:  Interior portions of the Lower Hudson Valley, parts of Westchester County and Northeast New Jersey.
  • Hazard types:  Heavy snow.
  • Accumulations:  Snow accumulation of up to 6 to 10 inches.
  • Timing: A mixture of rain and snow Wednesday morning will change to all snow by about 10a on Wednesday morning.
  • Impacts: The snowfall will significantly impact holiday travel, making driving dangerous at times.

 

 

Recommended actions

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only Travel in an emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food. And Water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
