Gratitude - What is it? Why is it?
I feel gratitude every day of my existence.
When I got married years ago, I realized that there are many ways to go through life. One is to be happy with what you are dealt and make the best of it, and to help others deal with what they have,
OR
To be misreable every day. YUCK!
I, fortunately, was dealt a pretty cool hand. Handsome healthy happy husband with great in law parents, had then a boy, a girl, a Golden Retriever and a cute little antique house. What more is there? I was amazed that we continued to have such beautiful children who were healthy, athletic, super smart, and a very successful husband.
We did all of the things young families do, and kept thanking our lucky stars that we were so fortunate.
Then, when my husband was 48, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. His father had it, too, so we were pretty familiar with what was ahead.
Twenty two years later, we still lead pretty normal lives, with him still driving, doing the dishes after dinner, taking out the garbage (HA!), doing his own laundry (Tee Hee) - etc...... Pretty cool! We are really really fortunate to have this under control like this with a simple patch (Neupro Patch) which just keeps him steady and great.
I have my goal to grow my brokerage to the point where if anything should suddenly go awry - I have a fabulous set up that will carry me through any rough times. I love my clients and the business. My clients know I have a crazy passion to make sure no rock remains unturned in their transactions. No surprises later!
I am excited to say my goal was to accomplish this in 5 years, and I am close to on track. I will never give up the transaction side of real estate - waaay too much passion for it! BUT, I have set up a system whereby I have back up that is amazing if and when I ever need it.
Another year and a half, and my business will be where I set my goals to be.
I am GRATEFUL for every day he has that is normal and good. I am grateful for every day that I can work with folks that need me, - whether real estate clients, kids, or my husband.
We still have that amazing life going on that we started many years ago, and for that - I am grateful!!!
