Come Now and Get the 'Lady of the Night' Out...
I was selling a bank owned property last year and I was having trouble keeping squatters out. My contractor would go by there every couple of days and find the doors open. We re-keyed it, screwed the windows shut, put a lock on the inside backdoor to keep the door from opening but we kept finding it open. Houdini I thought?
Then one night about 11:00 pm, a neighbor called and said I had to come right now to this house as there was a 'lady of the night' who had set up business a few weeks ago and was there right now.
Considering it was about 20 miles away and not in a neighborhood I preferred to go even it the day time. I said "Call the city police and have them come out". She replied "I already called them and they are the ones who said to call the Realtor as they are too busy". I told her I would come the following morning but I instead called my contractor. "The police said you had to come now......!"
He went over right then and shut her down, packed up her stuff in his truck while the man was running down the street pant-less. Yes, he took his pants too. The woman was screaming at him to come back and give her stuff back. She said she was calling the police. He called her bluff and told her "OK, I will wait for the cops to get here or I can call them for you" so she stomped off mad after telling him this was her house and he was trespassing.
Luckily this house closed soon afterwards.
