Are You A Bridge Builder Or Wall Builder?

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Bridge BuilderIn connecting people in life and determining how we want to communicate with them we become either a BRIDGE BUILDER or a WALL BUILDER. All you have to do is look around and see how YOU are treated by some or how others treat their fellow man.

In our dealings with real estate clients as a minimum I would hope you are a bridge builder with them and all associated parties. Clear communication, suspending judgment, overlooking quirky personalities, being accomodating and above all OPEN. The wall builder divides, pushes people away, is not sensitive to feelings, often has an intolerant, my way or the highway air about them. A bridge builder seeks win-win for EVERYONE.

A person's legacy often depends if you are a bridge builder. Jimmy Stewart and even Will Rogers come to mind, the latter saying he never met a man he didn't like. Do we all have breaking points or tipping points where we have to depart from people? Sure.

But let it NOT BE YOU not trying to build bridges.

If you cut the cord with someone, let it be THEM giving you the scissors. You all along are a bridge builder.

Good morning, Gary Woltal that's wise advice, but there ARE situations that are vile and we need to build a wall.... bridges must not be there for everyone....only those who are worthy....not everyone is.... good post... would make a good feature!!

Gary, I've had to be a bridge builder my whole adult life. In my previous job I had to find win/win scenarios all the time or I would not have survived with seven Board Member bosses!

I would prefer to be deemed a bridge builder however with so much rain and waterfront  I might say damn it once or twice

Definitely a bridge builder.  I do know, however, there are times in my personal life when the other side of a situation won't meet me halfway then I might be building a mental wall.

Gary  Perfect timing...I'm working with a wall builder now.  The real estate commission will take her licence....I hope.  I have had 4 transactions with her (BROKER) and everyone was the transaction from hell.  She has black-balled me and won't allow her office to work with me.  The story goes on....
